Proposed rule: Modernizing Reactor Licensing, Safety Oversight, and Siting Practices
Agencies: Nuclear Regulatory Commission — Consistent with Executive Order 14300, "Ordering the Reform of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission," the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is conducting a review and wholesale revision of its regulations. This proposed rule aims to modernize reactor licensing, safety oversight, and siting practices addressing sections 5(f), 5(h), and 5(i) of Executive Order 14300, and additional items that contribute to adding additional generation to the electrical grid.
